Finding Home

Welcome… What does it mean to the various communities in Corvallis? In 2018 and 2019, the Corvallis School District (CSD), Determined Art Movement (DAM), community members, and faculty members met to envision a mural at the CSD Welcome Center. We wanted to create a space for students and community members to express the views of the word "welcome". Early designs started as a dove to convey peace, but the design evolved to portray geese as they are migratory birds, they are an extended family. Individuals painted pixels that come together as a sky mosaic.
