I am a queer and disability activist based in Delhi, India. My art practice involves writing, painting on large canvases, walls or other creative surfaces like my prosthetics, making zines and making a big mess! I love travelling around for work, getting tattoos, doing witchy things and grafitti all over my room.
I didn't grow up with art around me. I didn't study it or learn it. It came to me from a place of desperation and survival and wanting to be heard and wanting to be in community. Art for me is ugly and uncomfortable and difficult and it hurts. I believe that art should be accessible specifically for underrepresented and marginalized communities. A lot of my art involves live documentation of political narratives and radical thoughts. Find me on instagram and twitter @DisabledSpice |
